Betty’s – St Helen’s Square (café + evening meals)
Enjoy visiting the famous Betty’s tearooms in the Centre of town. Quite expensive but a real treat and worth the queue. Shorter queues are first thing in the morning and last thing at night. You can reserve afternoon in the Belmont Rooms at the weekend.

Little Bettys – Stonegate (café)
Small version of Betty’s set in one of York’s oldest streets. Very quaint and smaller queues.

Mannions – 1 Blake Street (café)
Excellent homemade food with small outdoor space with heating in the winter. Great for breakfast and lunch. One of our favourites!

Brew and Brownie and the Bakeshop – Museum Street (café)
Uses great local produce and has a fabulous cake-maker. Is quite small and can be hard sometimes to find a seat.

This is one of our favourite café/restaurants, which opened 25 years ago and still going strong. Open all day and has stunning views of York Minster to admire whilst eating. They supplied the chocolate cake, which you can see in our gallery pictures! Another one of our favourites! At present only open between 9.30am and 5.00pm seven days a week.
